Luigi's Mansion 3 is the third entry in the series, releasing for the Nintendo Switch worldwide on October 31, 2019. However, a leaked cartridge allowed Homebrew users and people buying from select retail stores to play it since October 26th, 2019. It was revealed in the September Direct/9.13.18.

Luigi is here again and his explorations of the mysterious mansions filled with ghosts never end! He will now appear in a hotel, solving puzzles and defeating the evil spirits in every room and corridor. He needs to save his buddies that were kidnapped by the ghosts. As always, the team of friends were tricked by the enemies that made everything look like they have received an invitation for a nice weekend in a hotel. However, everything turned to be not that bright and good – the mansion is haunted and the friends are kidnapped. Luigi is the only one who can solve this problem and make things better. So the plot is similar to the previous parts, while the features and gameplay is also the same. At the same time, there are some additional new things here. For example, now you can catch the ghosts using another technique and use your “twin” as a helper in puzzle-solving. What is more, this time, you have a chance to enjoy this cool entertainment along with your friends, because this chapter includes a nice multiplayer version. It is highly-cooperative and allows you to combine different skills of the characters to solve the tasks that are waiting for you.
The characters of this part are Mario, Luigi, Princess, Luigi’s dog, and Toads. All of them get invitations and find out that they are invited to a beautiful house – a hotel, where they can spend the best vacation in their life. They cannot resist an offer like that and go for it. However, Luigi wakes up late at night and sees that the building is empty and everyone is gone. The characters are now locked in the portraits and Luigi tries to escape from the ghosts to avoid such a misfortune and save his fellows. Luigi’s flashlight and dog help him to avoid being captured and he moves to the basement to make a plan. He receives a new version of the ghost-weapon and this makes thing much better to him – now the ghosts are not a problem, since he can fight them. There is a lab of professor Gadd in the basement and you will have an opportunity to come back there during the playing process. He might help you on your way to the victory which is finding a way to release your friends and getting rid of the annoying ghosts.
